This is one smart, funny, poignant, provocative film. The acting all across the board (loved the mother) was superb. The writing was absolutely amazing. It's the kind of movie that shows how much heart went into it. It doesn't hurt that it has a huge amount of brains to it, too. Ballotwise, it has to be the biggest '5' I've ever torn, and anyone who doesn't concur will find their nipples twisted off by yours truly.
Anyone else see it?

Re: Eve and the Fire Horse
Tue, March 21, 2006 - 7:56 AMI saw it, and at the end of it, H.P. leaned over and asked what I thought. I opened my mouth, but couldn't push any words through. I was quite literally speechless and blown away at the artistry and thoughtfulness of the filmmaking and the filmmakers. A subject like faith requires incredible balance to not become preachy or offensive and the filmmakers are tight rope walkers in my book. Funny, dramatic, poignant and very very real. I aspire to make films as good as this.

I love the culture clash view of a childs mind.
Reminded me of when i was young and going to church.
So i guess Eve and the Fire Horse and Citizen Dog both had reincarnation of grandmas!!!
I LOVE IT!!!

Sun, March 26, 2006 - 4:30 PMOne of my favorite scenes is when Surinder comes over to the house and after a long awkward silence, Karena offers him a Haw Flake from off of a saucer.
Then right after that:
"I'm Sikh."
That's not your fault."
